Making Decentralisation Work for the Poor
- On December 24, 2014
Making Decentarlisation Work for the Poor is an assessment and an advocacy on the effective utilization of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF) in the wake of broad discussions to deepen decentralisation further in Ghana.
Making Decentralisation Work for the Poor has been a response to contribute to addressing the many challenges impeding expected impact of the District Assemblies Common Fund on citizens of Ghana. Among these are inadequacies in the allocation, delay in the release of the fund, high statutory and non-statutory deductions and ineffective utilisation of the Fund by assemblies to meet the developmental needs of the citizenry. The project duration was for 36 months which ended in 2014.
The overall objective of the project was to improve the quality of life of the poor and the marginalized through increased access and utilization of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).
SEND-GHANA will continue to use our constructive engagement model to dialogue with diverse levels of government and other policy actors to achieve the desired policy change and practice.
