Ghana’s Covid-19 Cases Hit 636: Ghana’s case count of confirmed coronavirus (Covid-19) has increased to 636 as at April 13. The Ghana Health Service confirming the figures in its latest case management response update, said as at Tuesday, April 14, the cases have increased by 70 more cases bringing the country’s total to 636. Coronavirus recoveries in Ghana leap from 17 to 83: The number of recovered coronavirus patients in Ghana has seen a significant improvement in less than 24 hours, moving from 17 on Tuesday to 83 on Wednesday, according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS). Read more
Coronavirus: Don’t talk to the media – Ghana Health Service warns staff: “I write to you in uncertain terms to warn all staff in all seriousness to desist from engaging the media in conversations and discussions on covid-19 other than education” the Eastern regional directorate of the GHS, The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has warned health workers in the Eastern region to desist from talking to the media in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Volta Regional Minister calls for calm amidst 9 cases of coronavirus: Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister, has called for calm in the Region after it recorded nine cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, April 12. He said, “Relevant stakeholders” had started contact tracing in affected districts and called for support from all. Read more
Coronavirus is not a death sentence – Ghana Medical Association: The novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is not a “death sentence and Ghanaians must not panic over surging figures”, the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has said. 66.6 per cent of victims have no travel history – Ghana Health Service: Amidst the sharp increase in the COVID-19 cases in Ghana, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has noted that 66.6 per cent of victims have no travel history. According to the GHS, 33.4 per cent of the recent 566 cases recorded between March to April, had a history of travel. “The breakdown of the 566 positive cases are as follows: four have been treated, discharged and tested negative, 552 cases have been categorized as mild disease on treatment, two moderate to severe cases, none currently on ventilators and eight have died,” the Ghana Health Service. Ghana’s coronavirus cases are not getting worse – Dr Nsiah Asare: Former Director-General of the Ghana Health Service and presidential advisor on Health, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare says the Covid-19 cases in Ghana are not getting worse.
