The fast spread of the covid-19 pandemic in the country is posing negative effects in the cocoa production sector.
‘My interaction with some cocoa farmers in bono region particularly in Berekum and Dormaa municipalities have revealed that some farmers have to join their families in the cities to take care of their children who are now at home due to the close down of schools. The general opinion is that, covid-19 may affect labour and input supply should the situation prolong’.
